Why the environment is important to me:
As an athlete, my whole focus is optimal performance in training, competition and rejuvenation. If I am exposing myself to unhealthy pollutants through the air I breathe, the food I eat or the water I drink, it makes it harder for my body to achieve those optimal performances. It is just plain common sense.
Why I'm a Clean Air Champion:
The vision of CAC is one whose time has truly arrived. We live in unprecedented times, where our use of fossil fuels is creating undesirable side effects in terms of air quality, emissions that contribute to climate change and human health. CAC is about offering solutions, inspiration, leadership and education for healthy choices that can lead us all to a better and greener future.

Career Highlights
Introducing Ingrid Liepa:
I never intended to be an Olympic speedskater, it is just something that I literally fell into. It began in 1990 at age 24 when I moved to Calgary to start law school, and decided to pick up some speedskating lessons for recreation. By the end of 1992, I was on the national team, had qualified for the 1994 Olympic Games and began the first of six amazing years doing the World Cup tour. I attribute my rapid success to a deep and singular passion for the sport, coupled with the right physique and a lot of dedication.

9th, 2006 World All Round Championships
12th, 5000m, 1994 Olympic Games
