Why the environment is important to me:
It directly effects my training and racing venues. As an asthmatic athlete who competes outdoors, I am directly effected by smog and other air pollutants. I competed in China at last years Olympic test events, and saw a dramatic decrease in my performance/training because of the air quality. It was atrocious and I want to ensure I, or anyone for that matter, never experience such conditions in Canada and around the world.
Why I'm a Clean Air Champion:
Being a CAC member allows me to be a change driver, spreading my concern and ways to combat climate change, global warming, and other environmental factors affecting our daily life.
