Why the environment is important to me:
The environment is vital to my sport and the quality of the environmental conditions (i.e air quality etc.) is vital to the cardio-respiratory benefits I receive from exercise and training, and also to my performance in races. Besides the physiological influence of the environment on cycling, the environment is pivotal to my enjoyment of physical activity in that I love to ride my bike outside while enjoying the sounds of birds, the whistle of the wind, and the shifting patterns of clouds in the sky. The environment is my getaway from a sometimes hectic life to enjoy the simplicity of cycling in nature. Thus, the environment is essential to my physiological well-being through the quality of the air I breathe, and also to my emotional/mental well-being in providing a sanctuary where I can think, dream, and relax!!
Why I'm a Clean Air Champion:
I love the environment especially being a road cyclist and daily enjoying the amazing outdoors!!! Becoming a member of the CAC is one way I can give back to the environment by being a spokesperson for CAC to promote clean air and the benefits of clean air to our lives. I have always been an outdoor enthusiast and it would be an honor to be a member and do whatever I could to promote, advertise, and represent the CAC to ensure that other athletes & non-athletes realize the importance of protecting our environment from further contamination from pollutants etc. I will be committed to doing my part to reduce emissions and spread the word of how others can do so too.
