Why the environment is important to me:
A large part of the reason why I love my sport is the daily interaction with the environment. Rowing puts you into the water, under the suns rays as well as being in the face of weather systems. With polluted air polluted water and ever increasing stormy weather systems, pursuing my dream of winning an Olympic gold medal would become all that more difficult and un-enjoyable.
Why I'm a Clean Air Champion:
I have always been concerned with our environment, right from a small age. And when the opportunity to become of a part of a community of athletes taking on the challenge of promoting clean air initiatives came to me, I could not pass that up. I also have a passion for energizing youth, I always loved hearing guest speakers come to my school, and now I get to be that person!
