Sport:     Athletics - Heptathlon   Community:     Toronto, ON   Languages:     English   Why the environment is important to me:     The air that we breathe and the environment is especially important to me because the environment is my workplace. When most people go to work or school they want that place to be clean and safe, it is the same when I train outdoors. I want my workplace to be clean and safe and helping to decrease air pollution and as a result increase the quality of air that we breath is one of my first priorities.   Why I'm a Clean Air Champion:     I feel that it is important for all people to be involved in the communities and cities they live in to make it a better place. Being involved with CAC allows me to interact with the community while striving to improve air quality and our overall quality of life.		View full size image

Career Highlights
	Introducing Beth Stroud:
		Beth Stroud suffered a potentially career ending injury in 2005, but she is working hard on her recovery and hopes to be back in the competition this summer. Before her injury she ranked within the top 4 in Canada in three different track and field disciplines: -3rd in Canada in heptathlon -4th in high jump -3rd in javelin in Canada Beth is a 7 time Canadian National Team member, winner of the 2001 Canadian University (CIAU) Female Track and Field Athlete of the Year Award,a three time recipient of an All Canadian and an All American scholarship in track and field and winner of the silver medal in the 2004 Olympic Trials.
